William back to flying

EN. After a year of transition, William has decided to return to flying.
He will begin a full-time job as a helicopter pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance in spring 2015.
William starts as co-pilot but, after training, will fly as a helicopter commander - he will donate his salary in full to charity. 
Training for the ATPL (H) will culminate in 14 examinations and a flight test.
William’s air ambo job will be main occupation, but his roster will take into account duties he’ll undertake on behalf of The Queen. What this all means is a Cambridge family move soon to Amner Hall - close to Duke’s work & Kate’s patronages, and away from press.”
 While on duty he could take part in anything from no operations to nine or 10 flights a day, according to Gerry Hermer, an aviation consultant for the charity.

Road traffic collisions make up a large proportion of the charity's work but other emergencies, including heart attacks, sporting injuries and other accidents are also common.

The Duke of Cambridge is hugely motivated by the idea of being able to help people in difficult and challenging situations. The air ambulance service does truly outstanding work and the Duke of Cambridge wants to make his own contribution to it.
William will also become the first direct heir to the throne to become a PAYE employee. 
William's annual salary will be around £40,000 a year,but after paying tax & national insurance he will donate his take home pay to charity.
What's also significant is that William will be tied into a 2 year minimum contact following training and would like to stay on for longer.
That means William will not become full time working royal until he is at least 35 - when the Queen will be 91 and the Duke of Edinburgh 96.
